They are so easy to make, only require five ingredients and three easy steps! The crunch of the chips with the smoothness of the chocolate forms the perfect combination of texture and taste!

Your Chips and Pretzels Just Got an Epic Makeover

Because this recipe takes all your favorite salty snacks, tosses them into a bowl, adds a hit of silky chocolate, and transforms the whole thing into a crunchy, crave-worthy dessert you’ll keep reaching for again and again.

Ingredients in Copycat Trader Joe’s Salty Snacks Chocolate Clusters Recipe

1 Cup mini Pretzels- Pretzel sticks work the best, but feel free to use any shape

1 cup corn chips – Fritos or similar

1 cup potato chips – salted, I like Kettle Brand

2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips

1-2 tbsp coconut oil – this will mix with the chocolate to give it a smooth texture

Instructions

  • Crush the chips and add them to a bowl. I use my hands to break them into small pieces. You want them to be chunks, not finely crushed into crumbs.
  • Melt chocolate – Put chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl with coconut oil and stir. Heat in the microwave at 20-30 second intervals, stirring each time. You want the chocolate to be melted enough to cover the chips, but not so thick that it won’t bind them together. You can also melt chocolate in the top of a double boiler.
  • Using a large cookie scoop, drop the snack mixture into small clusters onto a large, prepared baking sheet covered in parchment paper, and pour the chocolate over the top.
  • Put in the freezer for about 30 minutes

Variations

Use your favorite salty snacks or add more!
Add chopped nuts – salted peanuts, cashews, or almonds
Top with sea salt
Swap out dark chocolate with milk chocolate chips or white chocolate

Salty and Sweet Is a Winning Combination

If you can’t decide between something sweet and something salty, these The Best Salty Snack Chocolate Clusters are for you. Crushed corn chips, pretzel sticks, and potato chips are mixed together and then rolled in sweet dark chocolate. Each bite has a sweet and salty taste and is so satisfying that you won’t be tempted to search through the pantry trying to figure out what to have.

Storage

Keep these Salty Snack Clusters in the freezer for the fridge for about one month in a sealed ziplock bag or an airtight container. Then, pull one out whenever your sweet and salty craving sets in!

Loaded with Fritos, potato chips, and pretzels and dipped in sweet dark chocolate, The Best Salty Snacks Chocolate Clusters, are the ultimate treat to satisfy both your sweet and salty cravings!
