If you’re looking for a healthy frozen snack that tastes like dessert, these Chocolate Cherry Yogurt Clusters are about to become your new favorite treat. Made with creamy Greek yogurt, juicy cherries, rich chocolate, and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt, they’re sweet, refreshing, and packed with protein. Every bite has the perfect combination of creamy yogurt, fresh fruit, crunchy chocolate, and just the right touch of salt.

One of the best things about these Chocolate Cherry Yogurt Clusters is how easy they are to make. With just four simple ingredients and about 15 minutes of hands-on prep, you can fill your freezer with a snack that’s ready whenever cravings hit. They’re perfect for busy mornings, afternoon slumps, post-workout fuel, or those evenings when you’re craving something sweet but want a healthier option.

Greek yogurt adds plenty of protein to help keep you full, while cherries provide natural sweetness and antioxidants. A coating of rich chocolate creates that irresistible candy-like shell, and flaky sea salt takes the flavor to the next level by balancing the sweetness perfectly. They truly taste like a frozen chocolate-covered cherry—only better for you.

These yogurt clusters are also incredibly versatile. Use plain or vanilla Greek yogurt, swap in dairy-free yogurt if needed, or experiment with different fruits throughout the year. Once you make one batch, you’ll quickly see why they’re one of the easiest freezer snacks to keep on hand.

  • No baking required
  • Perfect for meal prep and freezer storage

Why They’re a Healthier Snack

These Chocolate Cherry Yogurt Clusters satisfy your sweet tooth without relying on heavily processed ingredients.

Greek yogurt provides protein and calcium while creating a rich, creamy texture. Cherries naturally sweeten the clusters while adding fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants. Instead of loading them with sugar, a thin coating of chocolate provides just the right amount of indulgence. The finishing touch of flaky sea salt enhances the chocolate and cherries, making every bite taste like a gourmet frozen dessert.

Because they’re stored in the freezer, they’re also ideal for portion control. Grab one or two whenever you’re craving something sweet without reaching for ice cream or candy.

These clusters are perfect for:

  • Afternoon energy boosts
  • Healthy desserts
  • Post-workout snacks
  • Grab-and-go breakfasts
  • Lunchbox treats
  • Meal prep

Ingredients for Chocolate Cherry Yogurt Clusters

You’ll need just four simple ingredients:

  • 2 cups Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
    • Oikos Pro or another high-protein yogurt works especially well. Dairy-free yogurt also works.
  • 1 cup chopped  and pitted cherries
    • Fresh cherries are wonderful when in season, but frozen cherries work perfectly too. Just thaw and pat them dry before mixing.
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
    • Helps the chocolate melt smoothly and creates a thinner coating.
  • Flaky sea salt
    • Optional but highly recommended for that sweet-and-salty finish.

How to Make Chocolate Cherry Yogurt Clusters

Step 1: Mix the Yogurt

In a medium bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt and chopped cherries until evenly combined.

Step 2: Scoop and Freeze

Line a baking sheet or plate with parchment paper.

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, scoop the yogurt mixture onto the prepared pan.

Freeze for about 30 minutes, or until the clusters are firm.

Step 3: Melt the Chocolate

Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together using either:

  • A microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, or
  • A double boiler on the stovetop.

Stir until completely smooth.

Step 4: Coat the Clusters

Working quickly, dip each frozen yogurt cluster into the melted chocolate or spoon the chocolate over the top until coated.

Let any excess chocolate drip off before placing the clusters back onto the parchment-lined pan.

Step 5: Sprinkle with Sea Salt

Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle each cluster with a pinch of flaky sea salt.

Step 6: Freeze Again

Return the clusters to the freezer for another 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely firm.

Serve straight from the freezer.

Tips for the Best Chocolate Cherry Yogurt Clusters

  • Pat frozen cherries dry to prevent icy clusters.
  • Freeze the yogurt mixture until completely firm before dipping.
  • Use a cookie scoop for evenly sized clusters.
  • Work in small batches so the yogurt stays frozen.
  • Dark chocolate creates a richer flavor, while semi-sweet makes them sweeter.
  • Store the remaining clusters in the freezer while coating the rest.

Flavor Variations

One of the best things about these yogurt clusters is how easy they are to customize.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Cherry
Swirl peanut butter into the yogurt before freezing.

Triple Berry
Replace cherries with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or a combination.

Almond Joy
Mix shredded coconut into the yogurt and sprinkle chopped almonds over the chocolate.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry
Use chopped strawberries instead of cherries.

Extra Crunchy
Fold chopped almonds, walnuts, pistachios, or granola into the yogurt mixture.

White Chocolate Drizzle
Drizzle melted white chocolate over the finished clusters for an extra-pretty finish.

Storage Tips

Store the Chocolate Cherry Yogurt Clusters in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to one month.

Separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Enjoy them straight from the freezer—they’ll soften slightly after sitting at room temperature for a minute or two.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen cherries?

Yes! Frozen cherries work beautifully. Just thaw them first and pat them dry to remove excess moisture.

Can I make these dairy-free?

Absolutely. Substitute your favorite dairy-free Greek-style yogurt made from coconut, almond, oat, or soy.

What’s the best yogurt to use?

A thick Greek yogurt or high-protein yogurt works best because it freezes firmly and creates a creamier texture.

Can I use milk chocolate?

Yes, although dark or semi-sweet chocolate balances the sweetness of the cherries and yogurt better.

Are these good for meal prep?

Definitely. They’re one of the easiest healthy freezer snacks to make ahead and keep on hand for quick breakfasts, desserts, or snacks.

Can I add other mix-ins?

Yes! Chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, hemp hearts, chia seeds, or granola are all delicious additions.
