Why You’ll Love This One pot pizza pasta

Quick and easy – A full dinner on the table in about 30 minutes.

One pan meal – Less cleanup since everything simmers in the same skillet.

Creamy and cheesy – A blend of cream cheese, mozzarella, and parmesan makes the sauce rich and irresistible.

Customizable – Add mushrooms, black olives, or other vegetables like spinach for extra flavor and texture.

Ingredients You’ll Need for this Pizza Pasta Casserole

  • Smoked Italian sausage (for that rich, savory flavor)
  • Onion
  • Marinara sauce, spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce
  • Bell peppers – green peppers, red peppers or yellow peppers
  • Short Pasta – penne pasta or rotini both work well – can also use gluten-free pasta
  • 3 cups of Chicken broth -helps the pasta cook right in the skillet or 3 cups of water
  • Cheese – cream cheese + mozzarella cheese + parmesan – for a creamy, gooey finish
  • Optional mushrooms or mini pepperoni (extra flavor, totally up to you)
  • Fresh chopped basil

Instructions for One Pan Creamy Supreme Pizza Pasta

In a large deep skillet or Dutch oven, add olive oil and sausage and saute over medium-high heat until lightly just browned, about 4–5 minutes

Add diced bell pepper, mushrooms and other veggies if using them. Cook 1-2 minutes until softened

Stir in uncooked pasta, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and 1 ½ cups water or broth, and bring to a boil

Reduce heat to medium-low, cover with a large lid, and simmer 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.

Stir in the 2-3 tbsp cream cheese, mozzarella, and cheddar or parmesan cheese until creamy and cover for 2–3 minutes to let everything meld together.

Serve hot, cheesy, and gooey, and sprinkle fresh basil over the top.

Storing Leftovers

Keep in an airtight container in the fridge, and this pasta recipe for up to two days. The best way to re-heat is by putting in a pan and stirring around for about 4-5 mins over low heat (you may need to add a bit of chicken broth). You can also heat in the microwave for 1- 2 minutes.
