Step 1: Cook the Chicken

Place chicken in the slow cooker and pour the chicken broth over the top.

Cover and cook:

Step 2: Shred or Slice

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2.5 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup finely grated Parmesan
  • 1 16 oz box pasta penne, rotini, bowties, or egg noodles
  • 1 tbps cornstarch

Instructions
 

  • Place chicken in the slow cooker and pour broth over the top
  • Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper evenly.
  • Scatter butter pieces around the chicken.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5 hours or high for 3 hours
  • Remove the chicken and shred and return back to the crockpot
  • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan over the chicken and broth.
  • Stir gently until melted and smooth
  • Cook the Pasta
  • Before draining, reserve 1 cup of hot pasta water.
  • Add pasta water, then stir in flour and cornstarch until fully combined
  • Cover and cook on low for 1 hour or high for 30 mins
